The area of South
Canterbury is renowned for its quality fruit, dairy
and baking produce, and the beautiful "Clean Green"
image is crossed over into the produce that is available
locally. At the last New Zealand Cheese Awards, South
Canterbury based producers Talbot Forest Cheese picked
up no less than 10 medals (two Gold, five Silver and
three Bronze) for their fine produce. Barkers in Geraldine
produce some of the best jams and sauces you will find
or taste anywhere in New Zealand, and Pleasant Point
boasts the best custard squares ever! You haven't tasted
gold until you've tasted some of the tantalizing quality
