Point is must visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. Just a short
drive from Kavanagh House, you can find one of the tastiest delights
in New Zealand: the custard square, a truly classic Kiwi icon.
A gooey bakery treat with a thick layer of custard sandwiched
between two layers of flaky pastry and then topped with vanilla
icing. South Islanders (and a few North Islanders too - they're
shipped as far as Auckland!) know that the best custard squares
originate in Pleasant Point, South Canterbury. A great place
for your afternoon tea!
