Maori rock art sites and several early settler museums.
View the unique 1929 Spartan Biplane at the Geraldine
Vintage Car and Machinery Museum, or see relics of early
aviation by inventor Richard Pearse (reputed to have
been airborne nine months before the Wright Brothers)
in the Pleasant Point Railway Museum. The region is
ideal for exploring Mount Hutt, Mount Cook and the Waitaki
Lakes, where "Vertical Limit" and "Lord
