A beautiful example
is St Stephens church, located in Peel Forest village
not far from Geraldine. The original church on this
site was blown over in 1884 and replaced by the present
building. There is now a separate bell tower, which
was constructed in 1915. The feature window, depicting
native foliage and birds, was designed by Roy Entwistle
and dedicated in February 1977. In the grounds, a wonderful
carved fish by Paul Deans serves as a memorial to author
Robert Piney and his wife Ann. |
